A lifelong Wrentham resident and Tri-County graduate, now facing the unthinkable.

At just 30 years old, Mikayla Guenard is in the fight of her life.

After not feeling well for a few weeks and not receiving clear answers, Mikayla decided to head to Boston for care. At Tufts Medical Center, she received a devastating diagnosis: congestive heart failure. Her heart was functioning at just 8% when she arrived.

She is now in the Cardiac ICU under 24/7 care. On Monday, Mikayla will undergo LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) surgery. This critical procedure will help her heart function while she begins a long, challenging journey of recovery and rehabilitation.

Through it all, Mikayla has been surrounded by her devoted family and her longtime boyfriend, Jake, who have not left her side.
