Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,
As many of you are already aware, Miguel Guerrero suffered a sudden and severe hemorrhagic stroke back in May. Miguel was at the pediatric doctor’s office, with our youngest daughter Sofia when the stroke occurred. In that terrifying moment, he somehow found the strength to call me, and I immediately called 911 and headed over to him. Thanks to quick action, Miguel was rushed to the emergency room, where he was intubated, sedated, and underwent an EVD placement in his brain to drain the bleeding and alleviate the cranial pressure.
The stroke has left Miguel with significant weakness on the entire left side of his body, including his arm and leg. He is currently in intensive inpatient rehabilitation, and while he is working incredibly hard each day, the road ahead will be difficult, filled with therapies to regain strength and motor control. His prognosis looks very good, but will require a combination of physical, occupational, and speech therapies, both inpatient and outpatient.
Miguel’s greatest motivation is his girls; they are his everything, and he misses them terribly on the daily. Our goal is to give him every possible chance to regain function so he can once again hold their hands, play, run, laugh, sing and dance with them like he used to.
We are asking for help because the financial strain is tremendous. Miguel’s stroke has left us without his income as we continue to battle the short-term disability process and increasing medical expenses. Miguel's medial Insurance covers part of what he needs. We are facing:
- Medical bills and high deductibles
- Out-of-pocket therapy and rehab costs
- Expenses related to bringing Miguel home
- At-home therapy support so he can continue to rehabilitate surrounded by his daughters, who miss him terribly
Every dollar raised will go directly toward Miguel’s recovery and care.
Miguel is a kind, humble, and generous soul, and always the life of the party and conversation — and someone who would help a friend or stranger in need. Now, he’s the one who needs help, and we are humbly asking for yours.
