Support Miguel's Recovery from Severe Burns

Hello my name is Ethan Gefre and I am trying to raise funds for Miguel Garcia. On Monday morning 5-20-24 around 1:30 am Miguel was making chicken in a pot of oil on the stove for him and a friend. While cooking the temperature must have been too high and the oil started on fire, the fire engolfed his kitchen burning his stove, oven and multiple cabinets. While under pressure miguel thought to put out the grease fire with water, which would typically be the worst thing to do but god was by his side and the water put it out. Miguel in the process grabbed the pot which was still on fire and spilled it all over his arms, legs, and chest. Where he is now suffering from 3rd degree burns. Miguel was brought to Saint Francis hospital in Breckenridge Minnesota where he was temporarily put on medications to help ease the pain. On Thursday 5-23-24 Miguel will be brought to the cities to the burn unit hospital where he will have an extensive surgery known as Skin Grafting. After his procedure he will have to stay in the hospital for 4 weeks where they will then decide if he needs a second surgery or not. Miguel is a 19 year old charming and hilarious character who I am lucky enough to call my best friend since 6th grade. If you cannot donate all that I can ask is that you repost and share this with everyone you can so my best friend can get the best care and treatment as needed. UPDATE!!! Friday 5-24-24 Miguel had his first surgery, doctors said everything went well, now we’re just playing the waiting game. In 10-14 days they will reevaluate and continue on the next procedure. Thank you again to everyone that has stepped up and not only supported Miguel but went out of your way to be there and comfort him in his time of need. Miguel appreciated all of this and so do I, I am very proud of the community that we live in and we’re both glad to call Wahpeton home thanks to you guys!
