Praying blessings and healing on anyone going through anything like we are now with my son. Miguel is my 15-year-old son who recently was taken to the ER with leg pain. Miguel had experienced leg pain for weeks on and off that seemed to be fine with ibuprofen. On Saturday, Miguel woke me up from a dead sleep in immense pain in his left leg and asked if we could go to the doctor in the morning. I had Miguel pull his pants down to see and immediately said no, we are going to the ER now. An hour later, we were transferred to OU Children’s Hospital with a diagnosis of Osteosarcoma. This, unfortunately, is any family member's worst nightmare, especially being in the nursing field knowing what I know as a mother. Miguel is a strong kid and more than anything needs all the love and support he can get. Many have reached out and shown support through texts and phone calls, and we are forever grateful for the outpouring of love that has been shown.

My hope for creating this GoFundMe is to be able to stay with Miguel throughout his treatments. We do have insurance that is thankfully covering most of his medical bills and will continue to do so. We are unsure of how long he will be down and how many rounds of chemo he will need. Today is port placement and biopsy day to confirm the stage of cancer. He is very nervous and has been very emotional today. I will continue to keep everyone posted on the updates as we get them. Anything you can do to help, whether it be monetarily, prayers, visits, calls, or meals, we are super grateful for any form of support. They say God gives the hardest fights to the strongest people, so we are counting our blessings twice today and armoring up for the fight.
