Support Miguel on His 7000KM Peace Ride Across Africa

Hello,

My name is Benjy, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my brother, Miguel Masaisai a 23-year-old endurance athlete and peace advocate from Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Miguel is embarking on an extraordinary solo bike journey of over 7,000 kilometers, from Goma, DRC to Cape Town, SA to raise awareness about war, conflict, and the often overlooked struggles of Africa’s youth. His initiative, Pedals for Peace, is more than a physical challenge it’s a powerful symbol of unity, resistance, and hope across the continent.

Having grown up in Goma, DRC Miguel experienced firsthand the realities of war, displacement, and poverty. Yet, instead of succumbing to despair, he chose resilience. Through sport, he discovered purpose and strength, and now he rides to inspire a generation to show that talent can triumph over hate, and that peace can be achieved without violence.

How the funds raised will be used:

$1200 – Food & water for 90 days

$800 – Lodging (tents, hostels, local stays)

$400 – Visa fees across 7 countries

$150 – Bike parts & repair tools

$150 – Power banks & solar gear

$150 – SIM cards & mobile data (for daily updates)

$500 – Emergency & safety kit

$1500 – Transport before/after trip & return flight

$150- Miscellaneous
