Hello Friends! In our wildest dream we've never expected that THIS kind of tragedy can happen to us.
As long as I've been married to my husband MIGUEL OLIVARES for the past 22 years, raising 6 kiddos and building a life in this awesome country, I've never hear nor saw him complaining about challenges of raising and supporting family.
He always been the 'beacon" of health, hard work and dedication to our family no matter the weather or how tired he was.....up until couple of weeks ago our entire lives got shattered...
During week of Halloween, Miguel noticed a tiny cut on the bottom of his right foot, not giving a second thought he just treated with first aid and continue to do what he always done ... driving truck. A day passed by and he noticed something was not quite right, his foot start changing color and getting swell, by the end of second day pain became more excruciating beyond anything that Miguel experienced in his life. All our family , friends here and Mexico where lifting him up in prayers, but the outcome was not what we where hoping for. Within few hours after he got admitted into emergency room he got diagnosed with NECROTIZING FASCIITIS ( flesh-eating bacteria) and after numerous tests and scans Dr's rushed him into surgery to amputate his right leg above the knee to prevent further very aggressive spread of infection and to safe his life.
We are all in complete shock and disbelieve on how fast ( literally 48 hours ) our lives got turned upside down!
We are trying to figure out now how to " pick up pieces " and move forward...
Between daily living expenses, immediate medicine, dr's follow ups, hospital costs and making sure our younger kiddos have what they need , the emotional, physical and financial stress has been overwhelming. This has been the hardest time we've ever faced as a family.
Miguel is staying strong and positive despite this life changing situation, but recovery will be slow and difficult.
WE are grateful to GOD that he's still here with us, but we do have a long road ahead of us.
We are asking for any help-wether it's a monetary donation or simply sharing this page-to support Miguel's recovery and to help us keep our family stable during this challenging times.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, GOD Bless each and everyone of you!
