Hi there! I’m Christy, a family friend of the Chambers family. As a parent myself, I understand the importance of the phrase “it takes a village” to raise a child. In this difficult time, the Chambers family is in need of support. They are currently facing an unimaginable challenge: their oldest child, Myles, has been diagnosed with cancer. I kindly request that you consider helping this incredible family during this time of need. They have always been there for others in countless ways, and I can’t begin to count the times they have supported my family.
First and foremost, they need our prayers as they navigate this season. Pray that they would remain steadfast in their faithfulness and know that Myles’ story will serve as a testament to all he encounters during this time. Secondly, they require financial assistance to cover the numerous trips to the hospital, lodging, medical bills, and other expenses associated with this challenging situation.
Please join me in praying for Myles, Tyson, Rachel, and Michael as they face new challenges daily.

Small in size but big in eyes, personality, and heart, Myles makes a lasting impression on everyone he meets. An active six year old, he had just started his second season of tackle football and was quickly becoming a leader on his team.
On September 22, 2025, everything changed. During football practice, Myles took a hit and later complained of hip and belly pain, followed by nonstop vomiting that night. We thought it was a stomach bug, but after several days of worsening symptoms and pain, we took him to urgent care on September 25th. Doctors initially suspected appendicitis, but when they “couldn’t find his appendix” on an ultra sound, further scans revealed something we didn’t expect, a large tumor had consumed his right kidney and was filling most of his abdomen. The “stomach bug” symptoms were actually caused by internal bleeding after the tumor ruptured during football practice. Myles needed an emergency blood transfusion, and on September 30th, he underwent surgery to remove his right kidney and a nearly two-pound tumor. His bravery and spirit amazed everyone around him, earning him the nickname “Mighty Myles.”
The surgery was swift and successful, and his recovery was nothing short of miraculous. Just over a week later, Myles was back on the football field, not to play, but to cheer on his teammates, leading them in a full sprint to begin the game! Ironically, the sport he may never be able to play again may have been what saved his life.
Myles has since been diagnosed with Stage 3 Anaplastic Diffuse Wilms Tumor, a rare and potentially aggressive form of pediatric kidney cancer. He began chemotherapy on October 17th, starting a 40-week journey of weekly treatments, scans, and hospital stays at UVA Children’s Hospital.
Myles is the best big brother to his 3-year-old brother Tyson, and as parents, we’re doing our best to balance treatment, care, and creating moments of normalcy for both of our boys. Our prayer is that side effects from chemo and radiation will be minimal and that this journey will stand as a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness in Myles’ life.
We humbly ask for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support. If you feel led to give financially, your donation will help us focus on what matters most—supporting our “Mighty Myles” as he heals and keeping our family strong throughout this journey.
Your support will help with:
• Gas and travel to UVA
• Medical bills and treatment expenses
• Meals and lodging during extended hospital stays
We appreciate each and every one of you. Our faith is unwavering and we know that this situation is in Gods control.
With love and gratitude,
The Chambers Family
