Mia Creed is the vibrant 13-year-old daughter of my best friend. She was born a fighter, weighing only 1 lb 4 oz and given a 10% chance of survival, but that didn't stop her. "Mighty Mia" beat the odds and has lived a life full of singing, dancing, and horseback riding. She has a smile that lights up the world and she doesn't know a stranger.

On July 12, 2025, our Mighty Mia was diagnosed with Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukemia (MPAL). A rare leukemia that is two types mixed together. She started chemotherapy on July 15th and her treatment is expected to continue for approximately 2 1/2 years. There will be trips to Kansas City twice a week for now until she has 3 clear lumbar puncture readings.
