Hi everyone. Recently my gf and I experienced a really tragic and heartbreaking incident. On early Saturday morning, 11/22, our 5 month old kitten somehow managed to open a little pocket in our window screen. She ended up falling from the window. We live on the 6th floor of our building so it’s a pretty high fall, especially for a kitten. Miffy was rushed to the ER near our home in SF where they did an examination of her injuries. She was initially unable to move the lower half of her body and suffered great damage to her jaw (broken/dislocated). Due to the severity of her facial injuries, the ER was unable to treat her. A transfer to UC Davis animal hospital was requested and accepted. We made our way to UC Davis where she is still currently being treated. Miffy went through another examination process where they reported no spinal fractures and good movement of her back legs and tail. Miffy has been monitored closely and will soon undergo operation to repair her jaw. As you can imagine, this tragedy has cost us a huge financial burden.
