I am raising money to help with Midnight’s care from congestive heart failure and her journey ahead. This is a photo from Ocean State Veterinary Specialist. Midnight has been there since Sunday night and has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, using 8 of her 9 lives at once. She will be coming home tomorrow evening but will need lots of medication and monitoring for her remaining life. She was on oxygen and is finally off, breathing on her own. She had an echocardiogram today. I am learning a lot about heart disease. She has restrictive cardiomyopathy. She will need ongoing tests and bloodwork as well as two or three medications. Furosemide to help remove excess fluids as well as two other medications. I am going to be creating a GoFundMe page documenting her courageous journey for those who wish to help and also educate other pet parents. Modern medicine and great veterinary care have come a long way in helping our pets, whom we consider family, live longer lives. Pet insurance is a great investment that I wish I had for my previous cat, Tom. They are helping out but it's still a huge expense, just like when we humans have major medical problems.
