Hello everyone! We are Alan and Sarah Hamilton and we sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read our story.
If you know us, you know how much we love our animals. Having no human children of our own, our pets are more than just "pets" to us. They truly are our family members—our children—and there is nothing we wouldn't do for them.
We have been having a very financially, mentally, and emotionally difficult year with our youngest dog, Midge. Midge is the sweetest, cuddliest, goofiest dog, and she came into our lives at a rough time when we really needed her. She has been nothing but an absolute joy to us since then. We are desperate to do all we can to give back to her and give her the fullest and longest life possible.
It started in early March of this year when she was having a pretty severe attack of vomiting. From there, we have been through the gambit with both our primary and emergency vets with multiple visits, lengthy overnight stays, and diagnostics every few weeks, if not multiple times a week. After ruling out Addison's disease, we opted to get biopsies done of her stomach and intestines, which led to a diagnosis of IBD. Since then, we are still battling issues that come with fighting and managing this disease and getting Midge stable. The vet bills are continuing to skyrocket with ongoing diagnostics and supportive, often emergency, care. The vet says she has every belief that she will recover in the end and we are desperate to facilitate this being possible.
We are normally extremely private people, and asking for help is very humbling and out of character for us. We always try to find a way to manage whatever hardships life throws at us behind closed doors as best we can on our own. However, this has been an extremely brutal journey and we have depleted literally everything we have to give as the fight to get Midge well and home continues.
Any help at all would be extremely appreciated to help us try to dwindle down her mountain of medical debt and prepare for any future issues as much as possible.
If you cannot donate at this time, we completely understand and would be extremely appreciative of any sharing of this post that you can do.
We thank you for your consideration and are hopeful for a bright, happy, healthy future for Midge.
Hug your fur babies tight and cherish all your moments with them. You never know what life will throw at you.
Sincerely,
Alan & Sarah Hamilton
