Mick has always been the guy who shows up — sometimes unannounced, usually smiling, and always ready to help with whatever needed doing. Whether it was a quick check-in, a laugh, or lending a hand, Mick makes life lighter for the people around him. He loved nothing more than fishing with his daughter Jess, camping with his girls Jess and Kaylee, and spending time surrounded by family and friends.
The past year has tested Mick and his family in ways no one should have to endure. After the heartbreaking loss of Jess in a tragic accident, Mick was still finding his footing when persistent back pain led to an unexpected diagnosis: stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. It’s been a lot — emotionally, physically, and financially — but Mick is facing it with the same quiet strength and determination that have always defined him.
As Mick begins treatment, he’s had to step away from work and focus on healing. This GoFundMe is meant to ease the practical burdens — medical bills, daily expenses, and the little things that add up — so he can put his energy where it belongs: on getting stronger. Any support, whether through a donation, a share, or a kind word, means more than we can express.
We’re taking things one step at a time, finding moments of laughter, and leaning on the people around us. Thank you for being part of Mick’s village and for surrounding him with the same kindness he’s always shared with others.
