Mickie was fitted for a personalized wheelchair chair a few months ago. It should be ready to be picked up soon! We are hopeful it will be more comfortable for him so he is able to get around more. He is currently “stuck at home” with limited access. They need so many upgrades to their home for him to be able to move around more. We are also looking into making his vehicle accessible for him to get into (as a passenger). Currently when he gets in or out of it it takes atleast 2 people. He’s a lil stalky guy!
4/8/25. As of today Mickie is receiving short/long term disability. The amount is only a percentage of his usual pay. They are SO GRATEFUL for any amount it’s just not covering their daily/monthly needs. Since the accident we’ve all realized how much insurance doesn’t pay for. Mickie is in need of tons of equipment to help him get around the house and ideally in his vehicle (as a passenger).
The next step in his rehab therapy is sending him off to Atlanta to Shepherd Center or a facility in Chicago. If you’re able to donate, every cent is VERY MUCH appreciated. If you’re unable to donate I totally understand that too! Please just pray for him and Erica and the kids.❤️❤️❤️
My brother, Mickie, was involved in a vehicle accident on February 6, 2025, minutes after leaving work. While the details of the wreck aren’t available, we do know he was left paralyzed. He underwent a six-hour surgery to fix his broken back. We are hopeful he will walk again. He does have a spinal cord injury, but as of right now, we do not know how severe. He will be in ICU for a while and then to a rehab facility.
Mickie is a hardworking, selfless man. He has always provided for his wife of 23 years and their 2 children. He would never ask anyone for help, and that is why I have decided to make this GoFundMe page. The past few days, Mickie has told me more than once he’s worried about “losing everything.” I’ve assured him we will not let that happen!
Unfortunately, while our lives feel like we’re on pause, they still have bills and daily expenses that have to be paid. The hospital parking deck alone is expensive…
If you’re able to donate to Mickie and his family, every penny is very much appreciated!
Please pray for a complete recovery! ❤️
