**Help My Mom, Mickie, Fight Stage 4 Lung Cancer with Brain Mets**

Hi everyone,

My name is Jessie, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my beautiful, strong, and loving mom, Mickie. She’s my rock, my best friend, and the best Grammy to my son, Dierks. My mom has always lived her life for others—whether it was me, Dierks, or the many people she’s helped over the years.

For 28 years, my mom has been the heart of Caribbean Spa in Ypsilanti, MI. She’s not just a business owner, but a light in the community. Mom has a way of making people feel good about themselves, whether by giving them a new look or simply being there to listen. She’s the kind of person who’s always been willing to give her time, love, and energy to others, especially if they were going through tough times. She’s cleaned for people, taken them to appointments, and put others’ needs before her own—even when it meant sacrificing her own time and money.

A few months ago, my mom started experiencing serious health issues and was quickly declining. She had a persistent cough, throat pain, excessive mucus, and weight loss. After rushing her to the ER, we learned the terrible news—my mom has almost a 4-inch mass behind her sternum, pressing on her esophagus, lung, and heart. Further tests revealed that her brain is swollen, and her lymph nodes are affected as well. The doctors diagnosed her with stage 4 Lung cancer that has traveled to her brain.

Hearing that news shattered my world. My mom is only 58 years old, and she should have so much more time to spend with me and Dierks. She’s been such an active part of my son’s life, and it breaks my heart to think about the uncertainty ahead. The doctors are doing what they can to keep her comfortable and are hoping to shrink the mass, but they’ve told us that the time she has left is uncertain.

This is an overwhelming situation for our family. My mom has always worked hard her entire life, but now she can’t work anymore. The salon's permanent closure and her severe illness before diagnosis significantly impacted her work schedule, leading to delayed bill payments.

I’m asking for your help to ease the financial burden that has come with this diagnosis so that my mom can focus on what truly matters—spending the time she has left with the people who love her.

We don’t know exactly what the future holds, but what we do know is that we want to make this time as stress-free as possible for her. Any donation, no matter how small, would make a huge difference in helping us manage this new reality. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean the world to us.

Thank you all so much for your love, support, and prayers. We are so grateful for each and every one of you.

With love,
Jessica, Darren & Dierks
