Support Mickey's Medical Journey

Hello all, my name is Ingrid and creating this GoFund Me for my good friend Nathaly, and her best friend named Mickey.

Mickey is not only her best friend, dog, but also her companion. He recently got sick, and she is having difficulty paying the vet bills and upkeep of his health. Since late January 2024, as the months have passed, it has been one bad news after another.

In January, Mickey was starting to experience hematuria (blood in the urine), which led to him needing surgery. The surgery was for removing stones, also known as crystals, in the urine. These crystals had to be removed because they caused obstructions and hematuria. This has led to him having to follow now a prescription diet. He must now take Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Adult Urinary SO Dry Dog Food for the remainder of his life.

Mickey has now had frequent urinalysis, urine cultures, and post-surgery x-rays to make sure he is healing fine. In order to promote a normal PH level of the urine he is also taking potassium citrate capsules. Mickey is now experiencing hematuria again, and it was due to a urinary tract infection leading him to need antibiotics. During his vet visit, the veterinarian retrieved urine using an ultrasound-guided needle. During this process, the veterinarian noticed a mass.

The doctor mentioned that the mass could be due to the surgery, UTI, or cancer, and to have a better visual, he would need an abdominal ultrasound. Blood work has been drawn and shows that his liver enzymes are elevated, leading to the possibility of a tumor. He will need to take Denamarin Tablets for 3 months due to his elevated liver enzymes. Mickey now has a scheduled abdominal ultrasound to have a better understanding of what's going on with him.

With all these medical visits and medications needed, the cost of care for Mickey is a hefty one. Any help is greatly appreciated.
