Support Mickey Nolan’s Recovery

On the morning of Saturday, January 17th, Mickey (Michael) Nolan was carrying his groceries into his garden apartment when he slipped on ice, falling down the stairs to his front entrance. The accident resulted in a trimalleolar fracture (multiple broken bones in his right ankle) and ruptured multiple tendons and ligaments on all sides of the same ankle. When Mickey fell, he used his left hand to brace the impact, causing a fracture in his metacarpal bone in his left hand.

The next day, Mickey had emergency surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. The following week, Mickey was transported to a rehabilitation center, his health insurance recommended, for around the clock care and started the long road of physical therapy. Mickey has been at a rehabilitation facility for a few weeks and now his health insurance is denying him future coverage!

Currently, Mickey is not able to put any weight on his right leg and has 4 internal and external pins going through his right ankle. Mickey is not able to support himself with crutches or use a walker due to the fracture in his left hand. This is why Mickey needs around the clock assistance and support.

The funds raised from this will for Mickey’s ongoing care and physical therapy. This is Mickey’s best option to make a full recovery. As of Saturday, February 21st, Mickey has to pay 100% out of cost for his care and physical therapy he so vitally needs.

Mickey already has the burden of not being able to work, medical bills associated with the emergency surgery, multiple ambulance transfers, and ER visits. Mickey (Michael) Nolan, is most known for booking bands in the Quad Cities from 1993 to 2003 until he moved to Chicago. Back in the Quad Cities he booked shows hardcore/punk bands, such as: Hatebreed, American Nightmare, Snapcase, Kill Your Idols, Dillinger Four, Dropdead, Ten Grand, Modern Life Is War, The Locust, Count Me Out, Reach the Sky, and more. All while supporting the local scene. He’s always been proud of the fact that he booked both Deathreat from Memphis and Death Threat from Connecticut! Mickey even had his own band he sang for: Only Ten Between Us.

We are thankful for any donation you are able to provide! There is no such thing as too small of a donation. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting Mickey’s recovery!
