On Friday the 12th, Mickenize was rope swinging into the river when her hand gave out on her. Unfortunately, she hit ground first before landing in the water. She was concious in the water, so knew to hold her breath but was unable to move. Thankfully, her boyfriend was able to pull her out quickly and get her to shore. He held her neck still while they waited for the ambulance to arrive. At the hospital, she learned that she broke her pelvis and neck, got a concussion, has a big gash in the back of her head which needed 9 staples, and a cut on her forehead which required stitches. She is home now, but has a long recovery ahead of her and will not be able to work for a while. She is the sole income in her home at the moment, supporting 6 children, 2 adults, and various pets. **Update**

Right now is just a waiting game. The doctors have put in a referral with neurosurgery and spine, they should be calling Mickenize this week to set up an appointment. She called to set up a follow up appointment for her broken pelvis and was told there is about a 4-week wait for this. She is having pain in the arm that went out on her, but that pain seems to be getting a little better. She is still feeling woozy from hitting her head so hard and her concussion has left her feeling confused. Of course, she is still her stubborn self and is already starting to get stir crazy at home, though she does get tired easily.

She has had many people checking in on her and wants to be sure everyone knows how much she has appreciated all the love and support she has been shown!
