Support Mick and Paige Rebuild After Devastating Accident
Donation protected
Mick and Paige Whitcomb are talented independent artists that travel the country making their living selling their art. Paige creates traditional, atmospheric tintypes that explore both landscape and portraiture with her staged scenes. Mick hand builds sculptural light fixtures using antiques and artifacts collected over years of traveling. At art shows, they are known for their beautiful work showcased in their unique, hand-constructed displays.
On February 12, 2025, the couple were in a terrible car accident while traveling to a show in Florida. While they sustained minor physical injuries, they lost their entire body of artwork and booth displays, as well as their brand new truck and trailer. They were struck by a hydroplaning vehicle traveling 70 mph that careened into their truck and flipped their trailer over, damaging it so much it could not even be opened. Months and months worth of labor and ideas were tied into their bodies of work, and it was all destroyed in seconds. Not only are their booth displays and art gone, the accident happened at the very beginning of the art show season, meaning they will miss out on earning income that they rely on for the rest of the year while trying to rebuild their bodies of work and creating new displays. Thousands of dollars worth of booth fees, Airbnb deposits, and show income were all lost in this accident. Any reimbursement that Mick and Paige receive from business and auto insurance will take months to come through and will likely not come close to covering the value of what was lost. Please help me in supporting Mick and Paige as they rebuild their lives and careers after this devastating accident.
