Hi, My name is Michelle but I go by Michie since I was little. I was given the unfortunate diagnosis of Lupus SLE at the age of 11. My parents were medically unknowledgeable to this new disease their daughter now had to face. My parents did the best they could and as a adult I tried to manage this difficult disease but at the age of 28 I was told I no longer had kidney function and needed to start dialysis to sustain life. As of now, I have been on dialysis for almost 6 years. BUT, God is wonderful and his timing is everything. I have now been approved for kidney transplant and as of 11/5/25 I have been ACTIVATED. Unfortunately, transplant procedures are very expensive and even though our family has tried their best to save money for this, we are still going to need help. I have an 11 year old son who is my entire life and I want to make sure he is well during this time I will need to recover from transplant. Hola, me llamo Michelle, pero me dicen Michie desde pequeña. A los 11 años, me diagnosticaron lupus eritematoso sistémico (LES). Mis padres no tenían conocimientos médicos sobre esta enfermedad que su hija debía afrontar. Hicieron todo lo posible y, ya de adulta, intenté sobrellevar esta difícil enfermedad, pero a los 28 años me dijeron que mis riñones habían dejado de funcionar y que necesitaba diálisis para sobrevivir. Llevo casi 6 años en diálisis. Pero Dios es maravilloso y su tiempo es perfecto. Me han aprobado para un trasplante de riñón y, desde el 5 de noviembre de 2025, estoy en la lista de espera. Desafortunadamente, los trasplantes son muy caros y, aunque mi familia ha hecho todo lo posible por ahorrar, todavía necesitaremos ayuda. Tengo un hijo de 11 años que es mi vida entera y quiero asegurarme de que esté bien durante mi recuperación. Agradezco a todos los que puedan ayudar, incluso con sus oraciones. Gracias a todos.
