Michelle is my amazing 13-year-old daughter. She is an honor roll student who was recently inducted into the National Junior Honor Society, has been involved in dance since second grade, and is also active in her Girl Scout troop.
In March, Michelle was nominated by her History teacher to attend the Junior National Young Leaders Conference this summer in Boston. This is an amazing opportunity for her to enhance her understanding of American history while also developing leadership skills. It is an experience that will leave a lasting impact on both her academic and personal growth.
This nomination came as a wonderful surprise, but the tuition and transportation costs are a big hurdle, especially with the short turnaround time to prepare. All funds donated will cover tuition, travel, and other expenses associated with the conference that Michelle is not able to cover on her own.
To everyone donating to help Michelle participate in this young leaders conference, we thank you very much. Michelle feels so honored to have been selected for this program and is very excited for it. When she first received the information packet and saw the cost, she got discouraged. But together, we came up with a plan to raise as much funds as possible through a yard sale, selling things on Facebook Marketplace, craft workshops, bake sales, and seeking local sponsors. We appreciate every dollar earned and every dollar donated.
This program and all the work Michelle is doing to raise funds will help her develop many leadership skills, including goal-setting, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication. This is such an exciting opportunity, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who helps her get there.
