My name is Lacey, and I am reaching out to request your help for my dear friend Michelle. Michelle and I met as the girlfriends to Jason and Mike more than a decade ago. Just as quickly as we bonded with our future husbands, our bond as friends grew fast, and we became chosen family.

Michelle is truly so much fun to be around. Her wit and sarcasm paired with genuine honesty and kindness is a combo that's rare to find. All that being said, I'm not the only one who wanted to say a few words about how great Michelle is.

From Debbie, Michelle's mother-in-law: Michelle is everything you wish for a daughter (in-law, but she's just like a daughter to me) to be: smart, funny, hardworking, gentle, God-loving, a wonderful wife to my son Jason, and a phenomenal mother to my only grandson Gideon.

From Michelle’s Mama, Denise: Michelle has a heart of gold. She is caring, honest, hardworking, kind, fun-loving, God-fearing and always wears a smile. Wonderful daughter, wife, and the best Mom to her 9 year old son. Even with her illness, she keeps smiling for Gideon telling him she will be okay. But he is too smart and asks too many questions that she can’t answer.

When Michelle was born and I held her for the first time, all I could do was cry happy tears. Forever daddy’s little girl—watching over her from the heavens. We knew we would protect our little girl from all the evils in the world.

But life had a different plan. Mama can’t make it all better. Hugs and kisses can’t fix this. All I can do is pray, never let her see me cry, and tell her I am there for her. You can’t imagine how hard it is to watch my daughter, my baby, suffer and I can only watch it happen. She has traveled a very tough road, and the hits keep on coming. Please keep her in your prayers. Michelle needs to rest and focus on herself. The mountain of bills from several doctors, treatments, medications, and two different hospitals—that insurance doesn’t cover and that seem to multiply—is not healthy for her to worry about.

Michelle has made a career of helping others. Over the past 11 years, she's worked tirelessly as a powerful advocate for the people she served. Now it's our turn to do even a fraction of that for her.

Michelle has been diagnosed with glioblastoma, a fast-growing, highly-invasive brain tumor. Over the past several months, she's gone through a battery of appointments, multiple specialists, tests, scans, treatments, and procedures, all while trying to combat the side effects of treatment and symptoms of the disease. As you can imagine, Michelle was unable to work, and the bills have piled up.

No one should have to worry about money or bills when considering your course of treatment, or while trying to live your life with the people you care about most, especially not someone as truly good as Michelle.

Michelle is now facing the approach of a second brain surgery. And we're asking for your help! Please, donate what you can to help relieve some of the stress of finances for our wonderful friend Michelle.
