Support Michelle's fight against Cancer and road to recovery

Hello Family, Friends, and those that we have not met, but you are here to show your support.

We need your help and participation!

On April 16th of this year, roughly one month ago, on the day of her 59th birthday, Michelle Brann received news from her doctor's office that her recent biopsy results came back positive.

Imagine preparing for a day of relaxation and pampering at a local spa in celebration of your birthday, and nearly one hour prior to the time you were planning to leave, you receive a phone call from a representative from your doctor's office informing you that your biopsy results indicate you have cancer.

The precise diagnosis given was metastatic carcinoma, consistent with ductal carcinoma of the breast. This news was unexpected, shocking, scary, and for many people would have triggered a state of hopelessness and helplessness, but not with Michelle.

Her positive personality, optimistic nature, and most importantly, strong faith in God have since set her on a path of recovery and a journey to restore her temple back to a healthy clean state, and eliminate the condition we refer to as cancer.

Our Plan:

A cancer diagnosis triggers many moving parts, from consultations with surgeons, specialists, new orders for scans, tests, approvals for appointment after appointment, and sit-downs with various physicians to discuss the diagnosis and results of the tests/scans. All of this takes time, and each second is critical, so we have not remained idle during this time of discovery and evaluation.

Michelle has been on a very strict regimen, eliminating toxins and carcinogens from her environment and diet. She is detoxing her body and organs while replenishing her body with nutrient-dense whole foods and essential minerals.

She is also eliminating stresses in her life, strengthening her spiritual connection with our Lord and Savior, exercising and resting, staying hydrated, and winning the mental battle by staying positive and motivated.

Michelle is a small buisness owner, and takes care of elderly residents in her residential assisted living facility 24 hours a day seven, days per week. For those that know Michelle, you know that she puts everyone before herself, and with this business, it has been no different. The level of care she provides to her residents and lack of attention to herself is a contributing factor to her current condition.

As part of our plan of healing, we want to focus our full attention on her recovery, and also in an effort to eliminate stress, the business will need to indefinitely close its doors and residents will have to be relocated. We are in the process now of making that transition, and estimate by month's end that phase will be complete.

The next course of action is for Michelle to enter into a cancer therapy treatment center, where various means of therapy will be implemented to assist in her healing process. Although we have been doing many things, and making many changes that have shown to be having a positive affect, we currently do not have the capacity to provide the full extent of what we feel will have the greatest impact on Michelle's healing process and rid her of this adverse condition.

The treatment centers we are considering are in Virginia, and another in Kentucky. Both have a track record of successful recoveries from various cancers by using a variety of strict protocols and therapies. These facilities are well-staffed with experienced individuals, use state-of-the-art equipment and techniques, have housing and living quarters, properties that are sterile from outside distractions, stresses, and toxins, and most importantly are in line with Michelle's faith and are built on a foundation of Seventh Day Adventist principles and practices. This spiritual foundation will provide Michelle with the connection, support, and spiritual peace that she needs during this tough time.

We are also in the process of getting additional opinions and options by turning her treatment over to the City of Hope Cancer Care Center. We want to have the highest level of focus, experience and professionalism as possible while we navigate on this journey.

Why we need your participation:

As I mentioned, Michelle will be closing the doors on her business, as she can no longer care for others in her current condition. While she will now be able to focus on her health and recovery, the downside is that she will lose a significant part of her monthly household income. Current liabilities still need to be taken care of each month, bills and everyday living expenses will still need to be maintained, and there is a significant cost for the therapy center.

We do not know how long this will be Michelle's reality but we do know that we need to plan and make arrangements for at least several months. The cost of treatment and therapies, bills and expenses, and income replacement for the next 4-6 months is our focus, and this is the reason for this fundraising campaign.

How you can support:

First and foremost, prayers and positive reinforcement are needed, as we believe that through God all things are possible and positive things will happen based on his will, our faith, and our obedience. The mind is also a powerful thing, so maintaining a positive mindset and being surrounded by positive people in a positive environment is more than half the battle won.

Michelle also needs your understanding and patience. If you have not been able to reach her or maintain your normal level of communication with her, just know that we are also trying to detox her from her phone for various reasons, but also to limit her distractions so that she can focus on the task at hand. It is very difficult for her to unplug and focus in on herself and we don't want her feeling bad about being out of contact, so your understanding in this area will go a long way.

For those that are able, monetary donations to assist us in getting to our goal would be greatly appreciated. Michelle has always been in a position to help others, not only with her time and service but also monetarily. We are now asking for others to support her in this time of need.

We want to be fully transparent with our ask of help, support and participation, and for those that are able to contribute monetarily we would like you to know what your efforts and dollars are going towards.

Our goal of $35,000 was determined based on these factors...

  • Loss of business income, for hopefully no more than the next 6 months if all things go well.

  • The cost of the cancer therapy center for a 14-17 day period. In addition there will be related travel (roundtrip airfare) and personal expenses.

  • Michelle's current bills, household expenses and liabilities will still need to be covered over the next several months during her treatment and healing process.

Thank you all in advance for any level of support and participation you can contribute. It means a lot to Michelle as well as her loved ones.

Please share this campaign with your family and friends, as any and all support is welcomed.

Join us as we march toward our fundraise goal, while Michelle continues on her successful path to recovery.

Thank you and God bless you all.
