Support Michelle's Battle Against Stage 4 Breast Cancer

January Update from Michelle:
I have been on my systemic therapy for 4 months now. This is a combination of oral medications and 2 injections a month. The side effects are less noticable than they were in the beginning. The main siide effects I have is overall nausea, fatigue, and pain.
Mid December I had a PET scan that confirmed I am responding well with the current treatments. The bone lesions are no longer active cancer and there is bone growth in those areas. My lymph node shows no sign of active cancer. The lump in my breast has shrunk in size but still has active cancer cells. The medication peaks at 6 months so we are hopeful for the next scan to be even better.

December Update!
Michelle has been taking oral medication to help stop the spread of the metastatic cancer, she will get another PET scan in a couple weeks to see if the meds have been working. She's only able to work part time and is relying on the help of donations and a robust meal train to make it through each day.

Please take a few moments to read about my friend Michelle’s battle with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer.

Michelle is a young mom of 3 kids – Nick 14, Sophia 5, Poppy 3. She has worked her entire career with children and started her career by caring for my son as his fulltime nanny for several years. She absolutely loves kids and has dedicated her life to caring for them.

Michelle recently was diagnosed with breast cancer which came as an absolute shock, she is only in her 30’s. After several scans, tests, & biopsies, Michelle has recently learned the cancer is Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer with the cancer also found in her bones in 7 different places including Michelle's spine, pelvis, femur, and sternum. The current treatment plan will be a systemic therapy with tailored medications to combat Michelle's cancer. The way her body responds will help determine future prognosis. At this time, chemo and drug trials are not an option.

Michelle works full-time in a childcare facility but will not have paid leave while she undergoes these treatments. We are asking for help with the medical bills that medical insurance does not pay and the lost wages to help pay for daily expenses, food, childcare, utilities, and rent.

Please donate if you can and please share her story. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
