Hi! My name is Michelle and I tore my Achilles tendon playing pickleball and I need your help.
I recently lost my full time job, and days before losing my health insurance that was covered by my employer; I tore my Achilles tendon playing pickleball with my mom on her 65th birthday (I’m so sorry mom, that may be our first and last pickleball game)
This injury comes at a time of massive transition for me, and has drastically interrupted my daily life; I had been working part time at a local taproom after I lost my job, and now I am unable to work since I am currently couch-ridden and on crutches. I have no way to make income currently and I am staring down the barrel of massive medical expenses and time spent out of work.
I am absolutely devastated, I am a very active person; I love working out, taking dance classes, and cycling. I’m also a freelance PA and Producer; and I run my own small business. My life revolves around physical activity. This torn tendon has left me to sitting on my couch, when I really wanted to spend this time pouring into my active self and my creative pursuits. That being said, I am not letting this get in the way of my motivation and positivity to overcome this massive obstacle.
I go into surgery Thursday, July 10th, and am expected to cash pay $5,000 before surgery. This is not including any post operation physical therapy that will be needed.
If you feel so lead, please make a donation to my upcoming surgery costs and physical therapy recovery. It is not in my nature to ask for money, but I have learned through previous life hurdles, that it takes a village, and reaching out to your community in times of need can be your greatest aid.
