Michelle & I have been friends for more than 4 decades, since we were kids in grade school. Michelle has always been the one who shows up for others. Whether it’s with a warm meal, a listening ear, or a quiet act of kindness, she gives without asking for anything in return. She has spent her life caring for others - and now it’s our turn to show up for her. I know I speak for many when I say: we’re here for you, Michelle. With love, with gratitude, and with the same unwavering support you’ve always given us.
In August of this year, Michelle received a life-changing diagnosis: breast cancer. As the primary breadwinner, she has always worked tirelessly to support her family. She is also the caregiver for her husband, Joe, who lives with Multiple Sclerosis and has been medically retired since 2012. Michelle was born with a knee condition that has progressively limited her mobility - making her caregiving role even more challenging. Now, as she begins her cancer treatment journey, she faces new physical, emotional, and financial obstacles. To focus fully on her healing, while receiving treatment Michelle will be staying in a home designed for women with breast cancer - a place that provides rest, care, and community during one of life’s toughest battles.
