Support Michelle & Josh’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On Tuesday, June 10th life as Michelle and Josh knew it came to a crashing halt. While riding his motorcycle in Arizona, Josh was struck by another vehicle and has suffered extensive injuries. A broken back, broken neck, a broken clavicle, a shattered shoulder blade, a lacerated spleen, puncturing of both lungs, and all broken ribs were just the initial injuries. Emergent surgery was detrimental for stabilization as the injuries Josh sustained were life threatening.
Since the accident, Josh has successfully undergone multiple surgeries, but has many ahead. Although the overall prognosis for Josh is positive, the road ahead is a long one. With more time in the ICU, still more weeks being hospitalized, and then time at a rehab center Josh’s medical care and treatment will be long and very expensive.
Once Michelle was notified, she was on the first plane to Phoenix to be with Josh. Having taken a leave of absence from work to be with Josh, oversee his medical care, and be a physical presence as he recovers. Josh’s family is trying to determine when Josh will be able to safely return to Massachusetts. What will the medical expenses be? How long is being on leave sustainable? What obstacles will Josh be facing long term?
As they navigate the future across the country and far away from the comforts of their home, they need our help. Never one to ask for anything, and the quickest to offer help, Michelle is so very appreciative of all that have reached out, offered assistance, and have been a support system to her and Josh during this time. Any contribution would be deeply appreciated as the medical bills will be coming in shortly while juggling living expenses in Arizona and maintaining their home in Pittsfield.
