Hello friends and family of Michelle!

This fund is for one of Orcas Island’s best neighbors and a true steward of our community and that is our dear friend and sister, Michelle Zurawik.

Michelle chose to make Orcas her home a little over 2 years ago after growing up in Chicago. She is a proud dog mom and is the garden manager at Doe Bay Resort. You may have had the pleasure of seeing her as your server in the Doe Bay cafe.

Michelle is currently facing a battle with an aggressive breast cancer, and is navigating the staggering financial costs of treatment off island. While she thankfully is insured, the compounding nature of travel costs, lodging, copay’s and deductibles that she is responsible for, has been a laborious task while having to take time off of work.

We are calling on her friends and extended community to help take care of a valued and loved member of our lives. Let’s take some of the weight off her shoulders so that she can focus on getting well.
