Support Michelle and Tim's Recovery Journey

Friends and Family,

I’m starting this GoFundMe for my best friend Michelle, and her husband Tim. On August 9, during a severe thunderstorm, they were in a terrible car accident. Both of them broke the exact same vertebrae in their back, which required the same 5 hour surgery — something their doctors said is extremely rare. Unfortunately, due to the severity of the spine injury it caused spinal cord injuries too. Additionally, Michelle’s ankle is fractured and has a tendon torn.
Currently Michelle is in the rehabilitation unit at St. Cloud Hospital, taking small but important steps forward in what will be a very long road to recovery. Tim is now at home recovering with the help of family and participating in outpatient therapies. They are focusing on physical and occupational therapy necessary to resume their lives outside of the hospital.

Michelle and Tim are two of the kindest, most giving people I know. They would do anything for others without hesitation, and now it’s our turn to help them. They have two wonderful boys, Easton and Max, who are about to start school and fall sports. While the boys are excited for their routines, it’s going to be tough for Michelle and Tim to juggle everything while they continue to work on healing their bodies.

The money raised here will go directly toward:
• Medical bills and ongoing care
• Transportation to and from appointments and school activities for the boys
• Household necessities in order to return home (support pieces, stair assistance, etc)
• General support so they can focus on healing, not worrying about finances

Many people have already asked how they can help — whether that’s donating to the meal train or supporting them in another way. This GoFundMe will help ease the heavy financial burden they are facing and give them the peace of mind to focus on getting better for each other and for Easton and Max.
Michelle and Tim mean the world to me, and I would do anything for them. If you’re able to give, no matter the amount, it will make such a difference for them. And if you can’t give financially, your thoughts & prayers, encouragement, good vibes and shares of this fundraiser mean just as much.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for lifting up this incredible family during such a hard time.
With love and endless gratitude,
Megan
