Hi Friends,
On July 2nd, I had a bike accident that changed everything in a moment. My electric bike brakes failed while I was riding at about 24 mph, and I hurtled down a busy street. I’m incredibly lucky to be alive — a Good Samaritan saw what happened, stopped her car, flashed her lights, and didn’t leave my side until help arrived. I later found out I fractured my patella completely in half(yes, ouch!!!), and I now need surgery on July 16th.
As many of you know, I’ve been supporting myself through early childhood education and nannying for kids ages 0–8. But now, with my broken knee, no car, and mobility issues, I can’t work until I heal — and that’s going to take some time.
So Thurston and I are reaching out to our beloved community for support. Funds will go toward food, medications, Ubers to and from doctor appointments, and the mountain of medical bills already starting to stack up (yes I am insured thankfully!).
Any support — financial, emotional, or logistical — means the world to us right now. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us.
With love and gratitude,
Michele & Thurston the Kitty
