Support Michele's Critical Care Journey!

On Saturday, July 26, 2024, Michele Evans was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room with a severe headache, high blood pressure, and nausea. The situation rapidly escalated and she was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit. Michele became unresponsive and was placed on a ventilator while in a medically induced coma.

Doctors identified a life-threatening infection affecting multiple parts of her body, including her brain. In the past week, Michele has undergone two surgeries, numerous tests, and intensive treatments. During this time she also suffered a stroke, making her path to recovery even more uncertain and prolonged.

Michele's husband, Dion, has been by her side around the clock while managing the home and comforting their three children. Dion has had to take unpaid leave from work to support his family at this difficult time of his wife being in critical condition. In the first three days, Dion was told by the ICU’s registration staff that the bill had already reached approximately $240,000.

Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket cost is very high. Doctors have indicated that Michele will need extensive and ongoing care. In light of these challenges, we are reaching out for your support to help with medical expenses and other costly aspects for the family as they navigate her care, recovery, & logistics.
