Heaven became a little brighter on Friday, February 7, 2025.
This is a story between God and evil, played out over the life of Michele Hanks.
Michele, born Jewish in 1968, converted to Christianity in 1995 becoming a Messianic Jew, a follower, a practitioner, and a believer in Christ. In 2015 Michele was diagnosed with breast cancer. This diagnosis initially created some spiritual uncertainty within Michele.
The evil continued by tilling her foundation with questions, planting seeds of spiritual distrust, sowing anger, and sending a plague of doubt.
Michele abandoned that crop and instead led her husband and her daughter to her spiritual well of Faith. Sustaining on prayers and her belief in Christ, Michele forged her path away from evil. Like the stories of other biblical people, Michele spoke of hearing God, feeling his touch on her, and being pulled towards His will.
Throughout her journey, Michele encountered other believers as well as non-believers. She was not swayed either way as she followed her path. She continued to work and to live guided by her faith in the messages she received.
As changes took effect in Michele’s body, she continued to work, eventually needing to reduce her work hours to part-time and finally to disability. It was at this time that Michele and her family’s travels took them to many places: multiple hospital visits, some overnights in ICUs, helicopter flight to an emergency facility, radiation therapy, and encounters with numerous specialists. During this period of decline, Lee suspended his work and became a full-time caregiver to his wife. Nearing the end of Michele’s life, family and friends would sit with her and recite prayers daily to nourish her spirit while simultaneously holding her hand to provide her with the loving human touch. She was told that in this human existence we were holding one of her hands while in the spiritual realm Jesus was holding her other hand. As Michele laid on her couch at home, she stopped holding our hand and walked away holding hands with Jesus.
This GoFundMe page has been established to help Lee Hanks pay the accumulated medical expenses. The Hanks family is thankful and blessed to have been supported by family, friends, co-workers, and their church community.
