Support Michauxs' Brave Firefighters

Their last 12 hour shift finally ended at first light. Many had worked for a solid week in conditions that were hot and dangerous, with 50 foot flames at times almost surrounding them. In the end, they successfully contained two distinct fires that had claimed 2800+ acres of the Michaux Forest. Who were they?? They were mostly volunteers, men and women who saved the Michaux Forest and Pine Grove Furnace State Park. When the fires seemed out of control, they did not quit, they worked longer and harder. When both fires were finally contained there were no injuries and no property damage. Pine Grove Furnace State Park was unharmed.

We believe it is time to say thank you to these brave firefighters. We are the Michaux Forest Association (MFA), an organization of cabin owners throughout Michaux State Forest. Our organization dates back to the early 1940's and has more than 200 members. Our board of directors meets regularly to discuss matters of importance affecting the Michaux Forest.

The MFA has established a Go Fund Me page with Members First Credit Union to raise money, all of which will be donated to local fire companies, who battled the recent fires. We have kicked off the fundraiser with a $2000 donation from MFA. Our goal is modest, only $35,000. Please help us to say thank you by making a donation through our Go Fund Me page.
