Hi, I’m Michal Gila—a podcast creator, writer, and someone on a long road of healing.
After 8 years of managing chronic illness—including PCOS, chronic fatigue, Lyme disease, and other hard-to-pin-down symptoms—I’ve hit a serious health rock bottom. For the first time in 3.5 years, I had to pause production of my beloved podcast, which has always been a source of joy, expression, and connection.
Right now, even working one day a week is a challenge. But I’m determined to rest, heal, and return to the mic—with your support.
Support My Healing Journey & Podcast Revival
Goal: $4,800
To help cover basic living costs and essential health care for a couple of months while I navigate chronic fatigue—and to kickstart a new season of my podcast.
Why I’m Asking for Help:
I’ve done everything I can: emptied savings (more than once), leaned on my family, tried every healing approach under the sun.
Asking for support this way, right now is hard for me. It brings up stories and shame around being a “taker, lazy, selfish". But this is what chronic illness has taught me: to learn to ask for help and to receive.
If you’ve ever listened to an episode of the podcast, shared a post, or followed along on this healing path—thank you. This campaign is about creating a sustainable bridge back to my work and wellness.
What your support will help cover:
- Monthly prescription medicine (not covered by Denmark’s health care system)
- Groceries, utilities & rent while I have limited ability to work
- A replacement microphone to record non fuzzy episodes
- Time & space (2- 3 months) to rest and recover—so I can rebuild my energy and keep creating
*Even $3 helps. That’s a bag of organic spinach, which my body (and budget) deeply thanks you for.* xx
If you do not have the means to donate right now, here are some non-monetary ways to support:
- Share this campaign with someone who might be able to contribute
- Subscribe to my Substack: Happy Little Lists
- Leave a 5-star review for the podcast * Happy Little Things*
- Share an episode with your mom, or friend, or on social media.
From the bottom of my (very tired, very hopeful) heart—thank you for being here.
I can’t wait to be back in your ears with new episodes and overspilling gratitude for all of life's happy little things when I’m feeling stronger.
Lots and lots of love,
Michal xx
