Michael is an invested staff member at Hayfield Secondary School in Fairfax Va. On March 15, 2026 he tried to breakup a student involved fight. He tried to talk to one boy instead of fighting…the boy spun around to continue the fight and Michael was caught in the middle. Michael was sent to Fairfax Hospital with a dislocated knee, fracture of the knee cap and later diagnosed complete patellar rupute. Michael will have surgery to reconnect the tendon so he will have the ability to bend his knee to walk. He will be unable to work for 6 months to 12 months. He will receive workmans comp but that will not be enough to pay his monthly bills. I didn’t mention he also is on dialysis and needs a kidney transplant. He chose to step in and try to deescalate a bad situation knowing his limitations. If anyone can help he will certainly appreciate it…
