Ayyo! Thank you for taking the time to click and read about Michael, our amazing taxi driver and friend in Jamaica.

Kate and I were so fortunate to be able to take a trip (no kids) to Jamaica last April for our 5-year anniversary. We had so much fun exploring Montego Bay, our home base while we were there.

On the 1st night, Kate and I heard about a reggae festival downtown and decided to walk around the resort to the taxi area. We saw Michael standing by his taxi van, ready to take the next eager person out on the town. Michael was instantly unforgettable. His kindness, humor, and willingness to go where we wanted made our night. He even took us to the (arguably) busiest KFC in the world and waited with us for over an hour at the end of his shift to get our food.

Over the next few days, Michael took us to Negril, to the Luminous Lagoon, and all around Montego Bay so that we could see the people and get some real experiences.

Now here is my ask... As you know, Jamaica was hit extremely hard earlier this month by a massive hurricane. Michael and many people in Jamaica had their homes and belongings badly damaged as well as lost income from being out of work. I want you to remember that even though it is out of the news cycle, real people who make positive impacts in many people's lives, if only briefly, are hurting real bad.

Giving money to charities is amazing, but my part right now is direct support to someone (and their family) that made the experience for me and Kate unforgettable. If you're willing and able to donate anything, it would be so appreciated. The funds will be used however Michael and his family need to use them. I already sent a few hundred dollars to him directly. I will update you with info or other pictures from him. Some that he sent me are posted here.

Regardless, thank you for reading, feeling, and caring. Love each one another. Hear each other's stories.

One love.

PS - if you are ever in Montego Bay and need a taxi driver, let me know!
