Hello my name is Beth Ingerson and I truly appreciate you taking the time to read this story. My best friends family experienced a traumatic event that caused his left thumb and part of his palm to be severed due to a chainsaw accident on 09/07/24. Currently he is in the ICU after a 9 hour surgery in an attempt to reattach the thumb. 1 out of the 4 arteries was able to be saved and he has received a blood transfusion and leech therapy so far. does not have feeling in his thumb but he does have mobility. Unfortunately the tip of the thumb is not surviving. We are now on oral antibiotics to make sure his body still responds the same way as IV antibiotics. He has been presented with a few different options which will keep him out of work for quite some time. Michael currently is a police officer for two different departments. He is staying strong and staying positive through this whole process. Due to the event, this is causing a lot of financial strain on the family with him being out.
