Support Michael's Pursuit of Becoming a Boxing Champion

Hello, I am reaching out to ask for your support in helping my nephew, Michael (Nev) Sirianni, achieve his dream of representing Australia at the Olympics and becoming a boxing champion.

In July 2022, a schoolmate invited Michael to visit his local boxing gym. Michael decided to give it a try, and from that moment, he never looked back.

Stirred on by the knowledge his grandfather was a boxer back in the 1950s and 60s, after each training session, Michael would eagerly call his grandfather to share what he had learned, igniting his passion further.

Michael dove into training and within a year he faced his first opponent in an amateur competition in August 2023. After countless hours of training, perseverance, and dedication, just nine months later, in May 2024, Michael claimed the title of Victorian Youth 50kg Boxing Champion.

In July 2024, Michael competed in his first national competition, earning the title of Australian Youth 50kg Boxing silver medallist. From his debut fight to becoming a state champion and then a national silver medallist in under a year, Michael's talent and dedication to the sport are undeniable.

Michael’s journey is about more than just winning fights; it’s about resilience, dedication, and pursuing his passion despite any obstacles. This became evident on this occasion, when unfortunately, due to other commitments, neither of Michael’s parents were able to accompany him to the national competition. Without hesitation, and at just 16 years old, he was fully prepared to go on his own. Despite his resilience, his sister and I decided to go to support him instead. We were so glad we did. Not only was it a privilege to witness his passion firsthand, but it also underscored the importance of having a family member, along with his coach, by his side for extra support at every competition.

Like any sport, boxing comes with significant financial costs, which can be a heavy burden for a 17 year old and his family. To continue competing at higher levels (whether interstate or internationally) and pursuing his dream of becoming a champion, Michael needs the support of generous people like you and would be grateful for any support you can offer, whether that’s through a donation or simply sharing this campaign with your network.
