Title:
Help Michael: Medical Support needed
Hi, my name is Michael Taylor. I’m a husband, missionary, pastor, and father living in Brazil. I’ve spent years serving the poor, mentoring the broken, and preaching the gospel wherever God opens the door.
Over the past year, I’ve been through a series of intense medical battles, including near-death moments with Dengue. That revealed a serious kidney condition, with surgical procedures and ongoing infections. Most recently,
. My body is in “dump mode” due to a catheter, draining out vital nutrients faster than I can replenish them. I now require advanced prescription supplements, medical testing, and follow-up care to stabilize—and soon I will have surgery for removal of the catheter as well as scarring due to my kidney disease. This is a major step that I need to recover fully.
In addition to the kidney-related complications, I’ve also been unable to address two essential health needs during my 4 years in Brazil due to lack of finances:
1. Eye care: I am legally blind in my left eye, and my right eye has worsened significantly. I urgently need an exam and glasses to prevent further damage and restore daily function.
2. Dental restoration: I currently have only top dentures (no lower teeth), and due to significant weight loss and illness, they no longer fit properly. Basic dental restorationshere in Brazil would greatly improve my health and quality of life—and are available at a fraction of the U.S. cost.
These are not cosmetic—they are essential to eating, seeing, walking, and living with dignity. I’ve included them in the overall goal, trusting that God will make a way.
I’m stepping out in faith to ask for help with:
Prescription supplements and electrolytes
Medical exams and baseline testing
Pain management medications
Follow-up doctor visits, as well as the cost of specialists, Urologists, Nephrologist
Future surgery preparation
Every dollar goes directly toward restoring my health so I can keep doing what God has called me to do. My monthly income is small and stretched thin—yet my faith is strong. I believe God uses the Body to lift each other when we face battles and have struggled in our lives.
If you’ve been blessed by my ministry or simply feel led to give, I’d be honored. No amount is too small. Every act of love helps me to continue walking in God’s purpose for this next season.
Thank you for your prayers, your generosity, and your love.
With all my heart,
Michael
