Support Michael's Life-Affirming Surgery

Hi there!

My name is Michael, and I’m a trans man preparing for a major, life-affirming step in my life.

My “top surgery” (double incision mastectomy) is scheduled for June 6, 2025.

This surgery is something I’ve looked forward to for a long time, not just as a medical procedure, but as a chance to feel more at home in my body and more at peace in my day-to-day life.

Unfortunately, as many of us know all too well, health insurance often falls short when it comes to covering gender-affirming care.

While my insurance will help with a portion of the cost, I’m still responsible for a significant out-of-pocket amount (a number I only recently found out, since insurance doesn’t process these estimates until 2–3 months before the surgery). That’s where I need your help.
