In 2019, I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, a life-long illness that has completely changed the course of my life. The side effects from the chemo pills and ongoing treatments forced me to resign from my job, and in 2024, I found myself still battling both the disease and the challenges it brings. Despite my efforts, I have been denied disability twice, and the drawn-out process has put a tremendous financial strain on my wife and me.

With my inability to work, all the bills and responsibilities have fallen on my wife’s shoulders. This has not only affected our finances but has also taken a toll on my mental wellness and put our marriage under stress. We have two young children, ages 12 and 11, who rely on us for support as they continue through school. I want nothing more than to help my wife and contribute to our family, but my chronic condition makes it impossible right now.
