Hello to everyone. My name is Michael, I'm 57, a US Army veteran, and I'm battling kidney cancer for a 2nd time in 5 years. First time around it took my left kidney. This time it's coming for my pancreas. I'm currently undergoing monthly infusions, and a daily chemo pill. Unfortunately, due to other issues, I've had to utilize all my sick and vacation time and I'm not able to take any time off without pay. I'm fighting to keep all the regular bills paid and keep up with the mounting medical costs from my treatment. The main reason for this fundraiser is if I need some extra time to recover, I would be able to take the time off without pay, and would have something extra funds to fall back on. As it stands right now, I get 2.8 days per month, and with medical appointments and recovery, it goes quickly. If I take time off from work beyond that, I do not get paid. I have investigated every possible option, and this is where I'm at. Normally I wouldn't ask anybody for anything, but I think it's time for a backup plan!! Know that I would be there for you exactly as you are for me!!
