Michael Falcone, dedicated father to Rio, local chef and a graduate of Archbishop Ryan, Peirce College and The Restaurant School was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in November 2024. After his diagnosis Michael had to have major colon resection surgery at the end of December to remove the cancerous portion of his colon.
Michael endured a grueling 5 week recovery from surgery and then a couple weeks later in mid February, began what will be a 5 month Chemotherapy treatment and recovery plan to ensure the cancer will not come back.
While grateful for this healing process, this treatment plan means that Michael needed to step away from cooking for 6 months. If you know Michael, you know how committed of a father he is to Rio and how passionate of a chef he is and not being able to do either a 100% has been both mentally and physically draining for him.
This diagnosis comes as a surprise to Michael, and challenges like these are difficult to anticipate. I am hoping we can rally together to raise funds for Michael to ease the stress of these coming months for him as he battles colon cancer and goes through his treatment plan.
While the road ahead is not going to be an easy one, if you are looking for a way to support Michael during this journey, kindly consider donating to this GoFundMe page. All money raised will go directly towards his cost of living and his cancer treatment and medical bills.
