My financial situation with disability is close to resolution, and I should be receiving my backchecks soon. I was able to pay my rent and car payment along with buying groceries and covering some late fees.

Loida is my greatest support, but this has been incredibly hard on her emotionally. She’s an immigrant from the Philippines, and she is worried about her future here. Our family is just the two of us and our cat, Khi. I’ve spent the last decade working with LA’s unhoused population as a substance use disorder specialist, and losing my job for treatment has been devastating. Now, my focus is on pain management and making the most of the time I have left. I’m not afraid of dying, but living with this pain is terrifying. What hurts most is seeing Loida suffer and feeling powerless to help her. Any support will help us cover rent, medical co-pays, and basic living expenses while we fight to stay afloat.
