Investing in a Future Counselor: Support Michaela’s Journey

Hello, my name is Michaela Tate, and I am currently a graduate student at Texas Wesleyan University, a nationally recognized institution known for its academic excellence. I am pursuing my Master’s degree in counseling, with a deep passion for becoming a licensed professional counselor and making a meaningful impact in underserved communities—especially among youth who are facing increasing emotional and mental health challenges.

I am proud to share that I have already been accepted into the LPC program and have successfully completed my first course. However, I still have approximately six more semesters to go before I graduate in Summer 2028. Each semester costs between $6,000 and $8,000 for just 2–3 classes, making this journey financially overwhelming.

While I am committed to my education, I am also balancing the responsibilities of working two to three jobs, paying bills, and raising a child. Despite my determination, it has become increasingly difficult to afford tuition while maintaining stability for my family.

I am creating this GoFundMe to ask for support in continuing my education and achieving my goal of becoming a counselor who serves and uplifts those who need it most. Every donation—no matter the size—will go directly toward my tuition and help relieve the financial burden that stands in the way of my dream.
