Michael's GMB Trip To Nicaragua
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Michael Alexander Martinez. I am a currently a senior majoring Neuroscience and Behavior at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.
I was and still am inspired to take on the Pre-Med track right out of the gate in high school because it was a way I can experience the complex nature of science and be able to find a way to help individuals suffering from health related difficulties around the globe. I have learned and experienced many health related topics while in my college career that makes me more than just sure that I want to become a doctor and make a positive impact on the world.
With no doubt in my mind, having a highly regarded occupation in the Medical field is challenging, fascinating and achievable. However, everything in life always requires getting your feet wet.
I have to privilege to go on Global Medical Brigades' clinical mission trip to Managua, Nicaragua. This trip, that I will embark on, will show me the skills and experience necessary to achieve my goals of being in the medical field through shadowing opportunities in a hospital. Additional to the trip, I will have the chance to tour the nearby cities, experience local the Nicaraguan culture, and be able to work in the community.
The date of the trip is on May 7th-May 14th. The cost of The trip is estimated to be between $1700-1900. This cost will include food, housing, medical professionals, housing staff, transportation, vaccinations, visa cost and other health related preventive measures.
I am currently a full-time student, working a part-time job and trying to find every way possible to contribute to this trip, but I cannot do this without financial and emotional support from my friends and family. Any contribution of any kind is greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading about my goal and thank you for donating to my trip.
