Our community is heartbroken by the sudden and tragic loss of 15-year-old Michael Wade. Michael was struck by a vehicle on McKnight Road in Ross Township on Thursday evening. He was transported to a local hospital, where he sadly passed away.
Michael was preparing to enter the 10th grade at Propel Montour High School. His family describes him as a caring young man who looked after the people he loved—especially his older brother. On the day he died, Michael received his very first paycheck and was enjoying what should have been a special evening before this unimaginable tragedy occurred.
No parent should ever have to bury a child. Michael’s family is now facing overwhelming grief while also carrying the unexpected financial burden of funeral and burial expenses. We are asking our friends, neighbors, and the entire Pittsburgh community to come together and help give Michael the dignified farewell he deserves.
Every donation will go directly toward his funeral and related final expenses. Any additional funds will help his family manage immediate needs as they grieve and begin navigating life without him.
No contribution is too small. If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser and keep Michael’s mother, grandparents, brother, friends, classmates, and everyone who loved him in your prayers. Let’s surround Michael’s family with compassion and show them they do not have to face this heartbreaking loss alone. Thank you for your generosity, support, and prayers.
