Support Michael & Penny Gibson's Cancer Battle

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I am reaching out on behalf of two incredibly special people—Michael and Penny Gibson. Since December 2023, Michael has been bravely battling brain cancer, and the recent news that his condition has worsened has shaken all who know and love them. Michael now faces limited treatment options and is unable to work or drive due to his illness, leaving his wife Penny as the sole breadwinner.
Many on Long Island know Michael for his dedication to helping students as an interpreter for the deaf, as well as a strength and conditioning, baseball, and running coach. In fact, years ago, he even coached my own son, long before I had the pleasure of meeting Penny. As fate would have it, our lives have crossed in a profound way, and now, I find myself in the position to support these two wonderful people.
Penny has devoted her career to helping children at a school for the deaf, giving so much to others over the years. But as a contracted school-based Occupational Therapist, she doesn’t receive pay when she has to take time off to bring Michael to his appointments and treatments. This has created a heavy financial burden at a time when their focus should be on Michael’s health.
Michael and Penny have always been there for others, and now it’s our turn to give back. I am hoping that through this GoFundMe, we can help ease their financial burden, allowing them to focus on what truly matters in this moment—being together and supporting each other through this fight.
