Support Michael: Marine Veteran Battling Epilepsy
Donation protected
Good morning everyone
This is a bit hard for me to share because I’m not someone who likes asking for help, but I’ve been struggling for the last two years with epilepsy. I’m currently in the process of fighting the VA to link my condition to my service, having been exposed to burn pits overseas, but as you can imagine, it’s been a long and challenging battle.
I’ve been substitute teaching in the severe and profound classroom in my area for about a semester now, and I’m committed to continuing this path. However, the summer months are tough, especially without the stability of a full-time job, compounded by the breakthrough seizures I experience.
On top of this, I’ve come to realize that I need a full-time caregiver, as my significant other—who is also a teacher—has been doing her best to provide all the medical care I need. However, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for her to balance both taking care of me and her own work. It’s taking a toll on her, and I know it’s hard for both of us.
If anyone has advice, resources, or is able to offer any support, I would be forever grateful. Any donation, big or small, or even just guidance on navigating this situation, would mean the world to me and my family.
GOD BLESS
