Support Michael Luce's Heart Attack Recovery
Donation protected
Michael Luce, the API Analyst for the MiCOURT Rest API development team, had a heart attack on Saturday, May 18th. He went to urgent care early Saturday morning with trouble feeling like he wasn't getting enough air and was quickly diagnosed and sent to the hospital for a heart attack. From testing over the next several days it was determined he had heart damage and on Wednesday, May 22nd, Michael received emergency bypass surgery. After spending a couple days in the surgical ICU he was moved to regular recovery, and finally on Memorial Day was discharged and sent home. Michael now has a long 10~12 week process of recovery ahead of him.
For anyone who hasn't worked directly with Michael, he has acted as the primary point of contact for external vendors and the courts for any integration using the MiCOURT Rest API to interact with CMS data, from initial onboarding and answering questions to working with our Services Implementation teams when onboarding new courts. I have never heard anything but positive feedback from those he's worked with. He is always helpful, friendly, and goes the extra mile with everyone he interacts with, and I've been grateful to have him on my team.
If you would like to support Michael and his wife Maggie as they go through this challenging time, please feel free to give. As a contractor, Michael doesn't have the excellent benefits available to State of Michigan employees. Anything given will go directly to them to help with medical costs and general costs of living while Michael is away from JIS.
