Support Michael Kimani Kamau After the LA Marathon
Michael Kimani Kamau became the center of public attention after the dramatic finish of the 2026 Los Angeles Marathon. Michael told me directly that he had prepared well and was determined to win the race. Near the finish, he lost valuable seconds after going off course and was caught at the finish line. Michael also shared that he felt deeply disappointed not to win and suffered pain and wounds from the fall. He had hoped to use the prize money to support his family back home.
This fundraiser is being created to support Michael directly after the Los Angeles Marathon. The support money will help him continue medication to heal the wounds from the fall, support his family, and help him resume training for his next race. I am organizing this fundraiser from the United States with Michael’s knowledge and approval. Michael is in Kenya, so I will receive the funds in the U.S. and transfer them directly to him.
Thank you for supporting Michael. If you would like to help, please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser with others.
For additional public context, this video discusses the finish and includes footage of the wrong turn near the end of the race. For anyone who wants to verify that this fundraiser has Michael’s approval, he also recorded a short video here.
